2022 Plans

Classroom Food Pantries

As we launch into the new year we are extremely excited for what God is doing here at Soul Food. During the first quarter of the year, we will be focusing on infiltrating the Dallas school system. According to Feeding America (2020), it was projected that in 2021 every 1 in 6 children, under the age of 18, may experience food insecurity in Dallas.

In 2022, our goal is to combat children's food insecurity by continuing to open classroom pantries, overseen by teachers, to provide students with food assistance. We plan to use a method called the “backpack method.” Food backpacks include non-perishable, easy-to-prepare food, for families and children to prepare. The packs will also contain scriptures to be taken home to encourage children and families to get to know the Lord.

Volunteer Opportunities

Beginning this month we will begin to offer volunteer opportunities. Please reach out to Kierra Washington, Volunteer Coordinator, directly to learn more about all volunteer opportunities here at Soul Food.

Prayer Request

Please be in prayer as we are believing God for a space to be able to store the resources we receive. Our desire is to be planted in the heart of Dallas.

We look forward to walking this journey together with you.

May grace and peace be with you,

Soul Food Team
