March
We are blessed because we get the opportunity to serve God’s people in a very tangible way. In the month of March, we were able to visit and partner with Union Gospel Mission
Men’s Homeless Shelter. There were over 300 men in attendance who listened to the word and received prayer. These men were from all walks of life and were hungry and thirsty for the Lord’s presence, it was a
joyous time indeed.
April
Since the beginning of the year, we have been trying to partner with at least three schools to offer education and mentorship to students. We are blessed to announce that we were able to get a contract with Uplift Luna Middle School in Deep Ellum, the heart of Dallas. We will begin tutoring students three days a week. We also plan to present a mentorship curriculum to implement come August of this year.
In the early days of April, we started our street evangelism in downtown Dallas. We offer prayer, a warm meal, hygiene bags and other resources to our homeless brothers and sisters. One of the main request has been for sleeping bags--this has prompted us to action. We need your help!
Sleeping Bags Needed
In the month of April, we will be accepting new sleeping bags to provide to those in need. We plan to deliver the sleeping bags in two weeks, which gives us a deadline of Friday, April 22. However, we will still be accepting sleeping bags even after that date. If you are not able to provide sleeping bags, please note that we will also be accepting donations. We can pick up the sleeping bags from you or you can drop them off. Please contact Stoney Washington on where to drop them off.
